This design features tragic, Shakespearean lovers, Romeo and Juliet and depicts the famous balcony scene. The intricate hand-painting on the teapot, shows Juliet, leaning from the balcony, looking down to her young beau, Romeo who is painted on the large, bistro style cup. Rose vines are hand-painted across the whole of the tea set, including the saucer and two, short quotations from the scene are depicted in cursive script.
The little teapot holds approximately 400ml, as does the cup - perfect for a refreshing, solo cup of tea.
